Meet Danielle

It all began in Mr. Sanchez’s 10th grade Art class.

Each day, he would paint these larger than life abstract paintings in the back of the classroom.  I would just watch him, in awe of the bright colors and layers of abstract brushstrokes. Vero Beach Artist Timothy J Sanchez  was the most motivating person I’ve ever met.  I was fifteen years old and I remember us talking about possible careers.  He looked at me and said, you love to paint flowers and you want to work with children so you should become an art teacher! You should go to The Fashion Institute of Technology for fine arts and then Long Island University’s CW Post Campus for your bachelor’s degree in art education. Wouldn’t you know it, that is exactly what I did! It only takes one person who believes in you to change the trajectory of your life.  He was that person for me.

Fast forward 30 years, I am still doing what I love and my classroom is in fact my second home.  My student’s creativity is contagious.  Many of my paintings were started as a classroom example right in front of those sweet little faces.  More than half my life has been spent teaching watercolors, learning different combinations of colors and different techniques.  When I started my florals, I used a super realistic style, but my style has evolved over the years.  Eventually what I stumbled upon was my own version of abstract realism using high contrast bright blooms against the stark white background of the paper. As a fiery Aries, I have always been drawn to magenta.  They say that seeing pink increases dopamine, which is certainly true for me.

As my own children have gotten older, my passion to become an artist has grown and my vision has become more and more clear.  That is to share my artwork with the world.

I have created many custom pieces for clients.  If you see something that you like, I can create a unique piece for you as well.  This can be based on a particular flower or special landscape of a place that means a lot to you.  Anything can be created in the  color scheme and size of your choice.  I love creating meaningful tributes and will work with you to make your vision come to life.

I have so many people to thank for my dad being an artist and showing me how to paint. Mr Sanchez is an artist in Vero Beach, Florida, to this day. I also have my Masters in Computer Graphics from The New York Institute of Technology. Every day, I’m surrounded by hundreds of middle schoolers who are energetic. They are funny, they’re smart, they’re creative, and all of them, or the reason why I have the creativity and motivation to paint them rub off on me is that creativity is contagious. Many of my paintings were started as a classroom example right in front of those sweet little faces.

As a fiery Aries, I have always been drawn to magenta. They say that seeing pink increases dopamine, which is certainly true for me. It makes my heart race, and it’s not a fancy brand of magenta. That is my favorite thing about being a teacher. Crayola magenta has always been my go-to; no other brands seem to match its intensity. I have tried others, but I still go back to my tried and true Crayola. I almost laugh when I tell people I have nothing to be embarrassed about. If it is good enough for my students, it is good enough for me.

Aside from my end result, the amazing artwork from all of them, Failure is never an option for them. I always pay special attention to everyone, including those with special needs, and I know exactly how to help and motivate them.

There are many different examples on every level so each child can be successful and create their own personal goal. I am positive and motivating, always helping along the way. I tell them, “There is no such thing as failing this class, it just doesn’t happen. I expect more from you, and I want you to expect more from yourself because you deserve it.”

If you ask any of them what sets me apart and makes me a good teacher, I promise you it will not be any of these things that I just listed. They will tell you it’s because of the special little things that I do on top of all the regular things that teachers should ALWAYS do. The bottom line is that I care.

As my own children have gotten older, my vision has become more and more clear. That is to share my artwork with the world.

I have created many custom pieces for clients. If you see something that you like, I can create a custom piece for you as well. This can be based on a flower, color scheme, and size.
